IR Sun WiFi is the first and only controller on the market, designed entirely for IR heating systems. Instead of on/off cycles, it adjusts the radiant power of the panels in real time. Most thermostats do the same thing: they measure the temperature, turn the panel on to 100%, wait for the room to heat above the set value, turn the panel off, wait for it to cool down, then turn it back on. Up, down, up, down.
With convection heating (radiator, underfloor) this is not so bothersome – the system has a lot of inertia. With IR panels, however, a person sitting feels every cycle. Now it heats, now it doesn't. Now it's pleasant, now it's cold. And every cycle, when the panel works at 100% and then nothing, consumes more energy than would be necessary.
IR Sun does not switch on and off. It uses pulse width modulation – continuously adjusts the radiant power. When the room is close to the set temperature, the panel works at 30%. When someone opens a window, the controller detects a drop and increases the power. When the sun heats the room, it decreases. The panel never turns off and never works at full power – it works exactly as much as needed.
Result: constant temperature without fluctuations. A person sitting does not feel the pulsing. And consumption is up to 25% lower than with the same IR system on an ordinary thermostat.
