Customer's Story

The customer is more than satisfied with the Ekosen system, as they expected higher consumption and therefore increased the temperature in the house during the second season, since the solar power plant produces more electricity than is consumed by the entire household, water heating, and heating with Ekosen IR panels combined.

The customer shares: “In the 2021/2022 heating season, which was our first year of heating with IR panels, the consumption was lower than in the 2022/2023 season. This was mainly because we didn’t yet know what the actual consumption would be or how much electricity we would generate with our solar power plant, so we heated the living spaces to 21 degrees and the bathroom to 23 degrees. In 2022, when we realized that the electricity production was sufficient and the power consumption for IR heating did not exceed expectations, we heated the living spaces to 22.5 degrees and the bathroom to 23–23.5 degrees. For this reason, the electricity consumption for heating increased in 2022.”

Annual energy consumption for heating

  • 2021 / 2022 season: lower floor = 3,997.20 kWh + upper floor = 1,913.10 kWh, total 5,910.30 kWh (heating at 21°C + occasional use of the fireplace).
  • 2022 / 2023 season: lower floor = 6,239.60 kWh + upper floor = 2,601.00 kWh, total 8,840.60 kWh (heating at 22.5°C without the fireplace).
